In Kaiyuan City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan, there is a kindergarten known by parents as the “forest kindergarten” – Kaiyuan Phoenix Kindergarten. The school has always followed the philosophy of “nature education, joyful growth” and wanted to create a safe, eco-friendly, and nature-infused large combination slide in their outdoor play area. After comparing several options, they chose Wenzhou Bailu Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. to fully customize the slide and provide a complete set of installation drawings, with their own team handling the assembly.
The kindergarten has an outdoor area of about 300㎡, with a natural palette of wood tones and green. Their clear requirement: the slide should not be a “pile of plastic” but an integral part of the environment, allowing children to feel the warmth, texture, and scent of wood while playing.
After receiving the request, our Bailu team visited Honghe for on‑site measurement. The local climate is warm and humid with strong UV exposure, placing high demands on the durability and rot resistance of outdoor wooden products. In the end, we custom‑designed a wooden combination slide primarily made of African pearwood, incorporating climbing nets, a spiral slide, a crawl tunnel, a small playhouse, and other elements. The overall shape resembles a “tree‑house castle.”
Considering the climate of Honghe, we selected African pearwood, which has high density, good oiliness, and natural rot‑ and insect‑resistant properties. Before leaving the factory, the wood underwent vacuum‑pressure rot‑proof treatment and three coats of eco‑friendly varnish. Even in the humid rainy season or under strong UV light, it resists cracking, warping, and fading. All wood is FSC‑certified for sustainable sourcing.
All exposed corners are fully rounded and polished – no sharp edges. For the ground beneath the slide, we recommend 5cm thick EPDM rubber mats or a sand pit, providing an impact absorption value of over 45%, well above national standards. The post embedment depth is 30cm (as indicated in the drawings, sufficient for everyday stability).
This slide is not just a slide – it integrates climbing nets, rope ladders, crawl tubes, balance bridges, and two slide lanes (spiral and straight). Children first climb to a 1.5‑meter‑high platform, then choose which lane to slide down. Climbing improves coordination, sliding stimulates vestibular development, and playing together builds social skills.
We added traditional Yi ethnic pattern cutouts (Honghe is a Yi autonomous prefecture) to the top of the small playhouse. This preserves the rustic wood feel while giving the kindergarten a sense of local cultural identity. The teachers said when they saw the renderings: “This is exactly what we wanted.”
This project used the drawings‑only + customer self‑installation model.
Drawings include: Assembly drawings, parts list, bolt torque specifications, detailed guidance for 30cm post embedment, safety zone diagram, etc. Each step is clearly illustrated with photos.
Technical support: Remote video guidance was available during installation, and customer service responded promptly to any questions.
Installation time: The kindergarten’s team completed the entire assembly in just 1 day – very efficient.
The kindergarten’s logistics manager said: “The drawings are very detailed. It’s clear where each bolt goes and how tight it should be. Our own people followed the drawings and got it done in one day. Saved a lot of installation cost.”
